Internet is by itself quite overwhelming, and it is an impossible project to try to look around and absorb just a tiny part of it all, and think one will be able to digest it!. Then something even more overwhelming (and this is a very generous phenomenon) might happen: People out there give their comments and replies, their associations and ideas, to the contributions one have tried to bring. To me it is both a thrill and a wonderful touch of kindness when I receve responses to my pictures. Water comes to my eyes! And, yes, sometime the pictures work like stones being flung into tranquil water, and circles start to spread and reach shores I never dreamt of, far away from the picture!

How to thank you all? Now and then I have tried to give back a personal greeting, most often, however - and sorrry to tell - I do not manage to reply in return and tell what impact and inspiration I gain.

Today (24th of October 2003) I want to thank Jukka, my Finnish cyber friend, or was it PhLo? - who echoed to the picture by conveying the poem below, - and made me google for Peter Hammill.

And I still want to bring further what Duke Ellington brought to my ears: "I love you all!"

Green Fingers

He'll be young forever if he keeps this up...
so the bedroom playboy's never going to grow up.
The heart is a secret garden
to which there are no short cuts.

Only green young fingers make the garden bloom;
for the serious young men now is always too soon.
The heart is a secret garden,
the head is a darkened room.

Close your eyes...
how does it feel to be in love?
Much too difficult, you shove
green fingers into gloves.

Get those fingers dirty -
now you're getting warm;
blood those hands with passion,
turn your face to the storm.
The heart is a bed of roses,
the heart is a bed of thorns.

Bleed, green fingers, bleed.

Some future memory stirs...
someone's always getting burned
if intensity holds true.
If it's real to be in love
how does it feel to be in love?

Green fingers stripped of gloves.
