Our local call box, Prillar-Guri, which the inhabitants of our village in 1997 chained to big boulders that the National Telephone Company should not remove it for what they called economical reasons, is still well known and receive still greetings. You can read a little more about the incident here: www.hugen.no/alden/prillarguri.htm The whole setting on the picture is perfect because Prillar-Guri really was a herding girl, - 400 years ago like she is today. The box and the ox above are both from Scotland, and the greeting reads: "Waiting patiently for your call!" Prillar-Guri wants to thank for the honour. And the further information goes like this: Highland Cow, Plockton, Wetser Ross, The Highlands of Scotland. © E.A.Browness - Sterling Gallery Prillar-Guri er stadig kjend både her heime og utanfor landegrensene. Helsingar kjem rett som det er, og her er den siste. Teksten skulle bli noko slikt på norsk: "Ventar med tolmod på at du skal ringje!" Prillar-Guri takkar for ærefull helsing. |
